This young couple bought a home with really good bones and the intention to remodel the first floor for contemporary living. The kitchen and butler’s pantry were re-worked to allow for a much larger and more functional kitchen with more storage, an entry way and a small powder room. The former kitchen had only three feet of countertop, one cabinet and no drawers. Good planning and an interesting use of materials including vertical grain Douglas fir cabinets, honed granite countertops and a mixed granite and black glass backsplash creates a sophisticated yet modern kitchen that will stand the test of time.
